Legally Blonde
Like, OMG, this was like totally great! Okay, so it isn't "The Scarlet Pimpernel," but this Musical was pretty sweet. It was almost funnier than the movie, and I really loved the movie. It meant a lot to me because I could relate. I'm not a rich, bleached blonde; but when I went through law school, I was a chubby, baby-faced, natural blonde, Christian conservative in a school infamous for it's discriminating practices. I was admittedly struggling after first semester. People naturally underestimated me because of both my looks and my background, and that was a really difficult situation to overcome. That's probably why the "Chip on my Shoulder" struck a cord -- especially since I watched it right before being sworn in as an attorney :)
The acting is somewhat mediocre, their singing voices not the best. The scenes were a little choppy. But I don't expect everything I watch to be Tony-worthy and this one was charming. The set was amazing, and the smoothness of their transition excellent. The lyrics were good, the humor spot-on, and it got me involved. An overall success!
