“Miriam was crying with low, choking sobs as she nestled in her mother’s arm. Here she had always found refuge when things went wrong, and always, somehow, this adored mother had managed to straighten things out. . .”
A story of love, perseverance, and the enduring consequences of relationships, this story is set against a backdrop of the early beginnings of Christianity. The lives of three people and eternally intertwined as they move in an increasingly tragic direction, but everything changes when they meet the Christ, for good or for ill. A beautiful tale, reminds me somewhat of The Robe, but people never seem to have heard of it.
