DEFINITIONS
I'll add to this list as I come across terms that seem to need definitions. If you think a word needs to be on the list or have a question about a definition send me a note!
Drama =
Movies & Television Shows
Asian =
At its broadest, this can include any Asian country. But generally, (if only because they produce the majority of the shows), the term most commonly applies to entertainment from five places ~ Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan.
"Subbed" =
Since Asian Dramas are always in an Asian language, you usually have to wait until someone is willing to provide subtitles to watch them. Luckily, at this point most shows are subtitled within a few days. But when someone references the "Subs" or talks about a "subbed" drama, they are referring to the subtitles.
"Dubbed" =
Occasionally, you will hear about a show being "dubbed." This means that the soundtrack has been replaced with people voicing the dialogue in another language. For example, English-speaking actors record the dialogue in English and replace that of the original Drama. Personally, I prefer Subbed works.
OST =
The music (usually the theme song).
Bias =
This is usually used by girls, but refers to the actor/actress you like the most. It can either change from show to show or is you all-time fave.
Idol =
This usually refers to an actor or actress who is also a singer.
